PARKER, Viola Pollard: 1925 – 2008

Viola Pollard Parker, age 82, of Punkin Center, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2008, at Hospice of Wichita Falls, Texas.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church of Electra with Ronnie Miller of Holliday officiating. Interment will be Electra Memorial Park under direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. today in Aulds Funeral Home located at 420 North Waggoner.

Viola was born June 21, 1925, in Velma, to Noah Edward Pollard and Celia Rovilla Allen Pollard.

She and Glenn Parker married Oct. 4, 1944, in San Diego, Calif. He preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 1990.

On Aug. 20, 1957, she moved to Punkin Center and was a homemaker throughout her life. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church since 1957. She loved cooking for her family and friends, and was known as a great cook. She enjoyed crappie fishing and playing the piano.

Survivors include two sons: Robert Parker and wife, Linda, of Odessa, Texas, and Ron Parker and wife, Karen, of Lone Grove; a daughter, Kathy Jones, and husband, Roger, of Wichita Falls; two brothers: Joe Pollard of Aransas Pass, Texas, and Noah Pollard of Velma; two sisters: Ruby Roberts of Moore, and Velma Ketchum and husband, Edwin, of Duncan; five grandchildren: Rhoni Elliott, Greg Parker, Ashleigh Guadagnolo, Seane Parker and Anthony Guadagnolo; eight grandsons; and special friend, Leon Melton, of Wichita Falls.
