McDANIEL, Bearl: 1918 – 2011

Bearl McDaniel, 93, of Quanah, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, in Quanah.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, in Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Monte Lumpkin, pastor of Goodlett Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Quanah Memorial Park under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Quanah.

He was born Sept. 3, 1918, in Gould, Okla., a son of the late Paul and Sally Patrick McDaniel. A graduate of Gould High School, he served in the U.S. Army Infantry during World War II. He and Virginia Chambliss were married on Aug. 22, 1947, in Quanah. He was a longtime resident of Quanah and a farmer and rancher. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, of Quanah; two sons, Galen McDaniel and Lannis McDaniel, both of Quanah; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
