LEONARD, Auther “AC” Clyde: 1925 – 2011

A.C. Leonard, 82, a former Dumas resident, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2011. Graveside Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Dumas Cemetery. Rev. Jay McGaughy, pastor of Temple Baptist Church in Dumas will be officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors.

A.C. was born on August 15, 1928 in Goodlett, Texas to Sol and Ora Lenoard. He married Reba Boswell on September 3, 1948 in Dumas. She preceded him in death on July 4, 2004. A.C. was a hard worker. He was employed at the smelter plant in Dumas for 25 years. He moved to Plainview in 1972, and was a resident there for 38 years. He worked for Occidental & Zip Fertilizer until his retirement.

A.C. loved to ride motorcycles. One of his greatest joys was riding at the Canadian River with his son-in-laws and grandkids. He loved the outdoors, camping out and fishing with his family. They were his life, and he was a very dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He was a quiet man, but when he spoke, everyone listened. He was a Christian, and a member of Seth Ward Baptist Church in Plainview.

Survivors include: two daughters, Barbara Henry and husband Farrell of Dumas and Cathy Myers and husband David of Plainview; one sister, Valine Ballard of Dumas; and numerous other family members.

The family will be at 1707 Lewis in Dumas.
