KLAPPER, Anna Mae: 1912 – 2000

Former Hardeman County resident Anna Mae Klapper, 87, of Arlington, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000, in Arlington.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Price-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Cliff Johnson, pastor of Goodlett Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Goodlett Cemetery.

Klapper was born Oct. 17, 1912, in Paris, Texas, a daughter of the late George T. and Millie M. Moree Melton. She married Vernon M. Klapper on Oct. 7, 1929, in Hollis, Okla., and he preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 1999.

A Hardeman County resident for most of her life, she was a homemaker and a former schoolteacher who taught for five years at Lazare. She was a member of Goodlett Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Verna Jo Werner of Arlington; a sister, Veda Melton of Oceanside, Calif.; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Care or Goodlett Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
