DUMAS – Graveside services for Verlyn Hollis, 71, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Dumas Cemetery with the Rev. Neal Unwin of First Assembly of God Church in Plainview officiating.

Burial arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors.

Mr. Hollis died Thursday, May 21, 1998.

He was born in Acme and had lived in Dumas for 25 years. He worked for the Dumas Co-op Grain Elevator and was a veteran of the Army.

In 1950 he married Jean Jeffers in Vernon. She died in 1996.

Survivors include four sons, Ricky R. Hollis, Larry Hollis and Terry Hollis, all of Dumas, and Gary Hollis of Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter, Rae Nita White of Tulia; a brother, Ernest Hollis of Snyder; a sister, Faeoline Norton of Memphis; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
