DAVIDSON, Charlie Barlow, Jr.: 1925 – 2012

Charlie Barlow Davidson, Jr. of Richmond, Virginia passed from this life on Tuesday, February 28th at the age of 86. He was born in Goodlett, Texas to parents Charlie and Maybell Davidson. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jean C Davidson, daughter Debra Binns and husband Michael; two sons, Charlie B Davidson III and wife Connie and Steven Davidson and wife Tracey. He is also survived by a sister Nina Parks, 5 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was a veteran of World War II and also the Korean War. Among the medals and honors he received was the Silver Star. He retired from the Marine Corps after 23 years of service and worked many years for the Virginia State Tax Department. He was a member of The Chosin Few and was one of the original campaign members for the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Quantico, Va.

Mr. Davidson’s funeral service will be held at Woody’s Funeral Home on Parham on March 8th at 11am. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park. The reception following will take place in the Bloemendaal House at Lewis Ginter Gardens. We welcome family and friends to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the National Museum of the Marine Corps or The Wounded Warrior Project.
